Posts and comments relative to CTL certification for seniors in the business program.

CTL Certificate WebCT site

I’ve uploaded the information and the link to AST&L to a new item in WebCT.  I registered everyone who wrote their names down at the initial meeting.  Please look to see if you have access.  It won’t show up under your courses, but in an Academic Projects section.  Feel free to look it over.

Remember, the texts used to create the exams will be on reserve in the library soon.  I hope we will be able to meet next week and get started.  How does Monday at 12 sound to pick a regular meeting day and time?  Let’s hold the meeting to 15 minutes max and all show up on time to participate.

If you can’t get in to the page on WebCT let me or kalani know and we will get it ironed out.

First Certification Meeting

On Wednesday at 1200 we will meet in CLS201 to have a first go at planning for the certification test.  All are welcome.  I’ll make a short talk and answer questions as best I can.  See the brochure here.

I am getting a course created in WebCT for material related to CTL certification.  Watch here for when it is active.

Make sure to send me or Kalani an email if you want to be a part of the study group.  We will build a mailing list to stay in contact, and also use your interest to put you in WebCT under the CTL Certification course.

CTL Certificate Program

In Spring 2007 term we are kicking off our certification program for business students.   Seniors will be standing for the certification exam which consists of six two-hour modules.  Passing all of them entitles a person to use the professional designation CTL after their name, much as a professional accountant can use the CPA designatin to demonstrate his professional expertise.  This designation is valued greatly by enterprises who want transportation and logistics experts working for them.

I will make an announcement about the formation of a study group for the exam at formation Friday.  It is aimed principally at Business majors, who have studied specifically the subjects covered in the exams.  Kalani Thibodeaux will be the chair of the group.  My view is that any student is welcome to join.  Only seniors can take the exam officially, since the certificate also requires a college degree.  We will be designing study plans for ourselves to concentrate on how to take the exams and be successful, and learning the concepts required to be successful on the exams.

It should be fun, and provide a way to enhance your marketability for your jobs after college.  See you at the first meeting– look for info about time and place here.
