Mgr Econ – Week 5

Next week we will begin by hearing the lecture by Derrick Ervin and Josh Frederiksson, on problems 4-28 and 4-30.

On Monday also, I will request a team for the next lecture on chapter 5, which will take place on Monday February 12.

ON WEDNESDAY I WILL NOT BE IN CLASS.  Use the time to study.  It is a good idea for you to be working problems from the end of the chapters we have covered. Problems for the exam will be like that.

We will continue talking about chapter 5, for the whole week, finishing it Friday.

After this, we move away from basic economics and discuss a variety of applications and techniques new to you.  So now is the time to get the economic concepts learned.

Micro – Week 5

This is exam week! Friday 2-9-07 we will have our first exam.  I will write an exam prospectus next week to help you study.  The exam will cover chapters 1 thru 5.  I think this is all right because chapter 5 is really just applications of earlier chapters.

You should be working problems from the first 5 chapters to prepare for the exam.  Your homework is supposed to be due Monday. That is a good target date for you, but I will accept it up to the day of the exam.  Use the problem list for assignment 1 and assignment 2 on WebCT.

On Monday we will complete chapter 5.  There might be time for a question or two.

WEDNESDAY I WILL NOT BE IN CLASS. Use the time to study for the exam and to work problems.  It would be a good time for a group work session if you have a study group.

See you next week!

Macro – Week 5

This week we will finish up chapter 5 and then tackle chapter 6. That will let you get a start on the second homework assignment. Chapter 6 is key for your team project, which is due Friday February 23. I only have a few teams signed up yet, and hope also to get some emails from team leaders by Monday telling me who is on your team.

Wednesday I will not be in class. Use the time to meet regarding your project and get started.

I WANT TO CALL YOUR ATTENTION TO THE EXTRA POINTS OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE TO ANYONE WITH A SCORE 65 OR BELOW ON THE FIRST MIDTERM.

You may correct any question for one additional point on the exam; that means a total of 5 extra points possible. You must correct every part of the question, explaining your answer. You may write your corrections on the exam paper in a different color, or you may attach sheets. Turn in both the exam and the corrections! I need to see the exam to know what you were correcting.

The deadline for corrections is Friday 2-9-07.

After the corrections are in I will post the answers for you to see what the book says.

See you Monday!
