Introduction to my advisees – Advising

Hello, friends. You may or may not know it, but I am your academic advisor for this year. While I know some of you from classes, many of you I have not met. I want to encourage you to come see me in office hours (or make an appointment at another time) any time you need to talk about something related to your stay here. Email is a great way to communicate with me: it’s bruce@ahartman.net

My goal as an advisor is to try to help you graduate, hopefully in the four year time frame, with the degree and training you want. I may not know some stuff about life here, but I’m willing to help you research the options and to point you in the right direction.

Of course I expect to sign any crucial paperwork you may have, or find out where to send you for the correct things. I also hope to follow up on how you are doing each semester in your courses, and help you with devising successful study programs, if you wish, to improve your chance for success.
