New Shanghai Freight Index

Posted on November 28, 2012 by just2bruce | Leave a comment

There’s a competitor for the Baltic Dry Index.  The Shanghai freight index specializes in China imports and has sighed up 23 shippers to provide data.  There’s a concern that the Shanghai index will be manipulated by China, since the data come from carriers, not from freight brokers.   No futures will be traded here; they will be added later.
