June 25 2011 is the Day of the Seafarer. We should thank seafarers for their contribution to the world’s wellbeing.

I personally want to thank some of my student seafarers, those who came to Cal Maritime after some years on the sea. there were many, and I learned from each one something of importance about the lifestyle, the hardship, and the value of the seafaring life.
