Gate to Gate: What Happens When a Truck Picks Up a Container?

Here’s a great video of trucks at the Port of Los Angeles and Long Beach.  It outlines the many steps required to drop off and pick up a container.  I especially like the Import Drayage Process Map about 40 seconds in; it reminds me of a bowl of spaghetti. The video is courtesy of PierPass. My friend Prof Chris Clott passed it on to me.

U.S. Departments of Transportation, Education, and Labor has released a joint transportation jobs report indicating that transportation industry growth will add 417,000 skilled and semi-skilled job openings from 2012 to 2022.
