He’s right about automated trucks– too far in the future to have much effect on the driver shortage, and won’t do anything to improve the image of trucking or to improve operational conditions. That’s up to real people committing to change, which is slow in coming in supply chains!

Just today! Couriers in San Leandro had to wear badges and were subject to disciplinary rules.
California firm to pay $5 million for misclassifying workers.
Other suits deal with cab drivers forced to work 12 hour shifts 6 days a week without compensation, and follow a fixed schedule and dress code.
