Ships are getting even bigger and only a few ports can handle them.  The behemoths will displace other large ships on the Asia to Europe routes and other ports will need to adapt to larger ships than they’re used to, requiring faster unloading, bigger cranes, and deeper channels.

Hours of service rules will affect shippers differently. Some deliveries won’t take longer. Each supply chain must figure out if their routes will be delayed.  The impact may be less than anticipated. CH Robinson’s study lays out some reasons.
